How to use EM for pigs

pigs

As result of excrement, powerful odours are created during pig husbandry, which not only have a negative effect on human respiration, but also that of the animals. Through the correct use of EM, this mal odour problem can be greatly reduced, stress situations prevented and the respiratory organs protected. A positive side effect is the creation of low-odour dung and liquid manure, which is rich in nutrients.

Pig rearing

Stall fumigation:

During the first month:
spray min. 3-4 times/week

The ideal solution consists of fix-mounted fumigation jets with a time switch

Subsequently:
spray 1-2 times/week:

0,1 l/m² EM-A-solution (0.01 l EM-A + 0.09 l water) in the warm months

In the cold months dilute 0.01 l/m2 EM-A with the technically required water volume

Stall cleaning:

Clean thoroughly with a high-pressure spray. Spray 1 l/m² of 1:4 EM-A solution (0.2 l EM-A + 0.8 l water) throughout the stall. Do not forget the ventilation shafts, roof vents, etc.

Liquid manure and dung handling:

Add a min. 1–2 l EM-A/m3 material (depending on the content of the ingredients) to solid manure via the liquid manure/dung duct at least once a week. The addition of ultra fine, alkaline silicate stone meal is recommended (dosage: 3 kg/m3).

EM-FKE in pig feeding

Use of EM-A FKE and EM-FKE Bokashi for breeding sows

Dry feed:

Add 7-10 l EM-A FKE/t to the feed for a minimum of 3 months, subsequently add 5-7 l EM-A FKE/t.
The antioxidants in EM-A FKE increase the stability of the ground cereal.
In order to guarantee good distribution throughout the feed, EM-A FKE can be mixed with a little cereal bran.

Liquid feed:

Add 2-3 l EM-A FKE/t to the liquid feed for a minimum of 3 months, subsequently add 1-2 l EM-A FKE/t.

Rinsing program:

make a feed soup using a EM-A FKE solution, e.g. 2 l EM-A FKE/1000 l.

In stress situations the following quantities are administered additionally as a top dressing:

5 before to 12 days after birth:

  • 1/8 l EM-A FKE/animal/feed, and
  • 1/4 kg EM-FKE Bokashi/animal/day

Use of EM-A FKE and EM-FKE Bokashi for piglets

Dry feed :

Add 7-10 l EM-A FKE/t to the feed for a minimum of 3 months, subsequently add 5-7 l EM-A FKE/t.

Liquid feed:

Add 2-3 l EM-A FKE/t to the liquid feed for a minimum of 3 months, subsequently add 1-2 l EM-A FKE/t.

In stress situations:

Immediately after birth give the piglet approx. 2 ml of EM-A FKE and during the administering of iron put approx. 3 ml of EM-A FKE into the mouth.
During weaning add 10 % EM-FKE Bokashi to the feed and freshly mix daily.

Use of EM-A FKE and EM-FKE Bokashi for fattening pigs

Liquid feed:

Add 2-3 l EM-A FKE/t to the liquid feed for a minimum of 3 months, subsequently add 1-2 l EM-A FKE/t.

Dry feed:

Add 7-10 l EM-A FKE/t to the feed for a minimum of 3 months, subsequently add 5-7 l EM-A FKE/t.
In order to guarantee good distribution throughout the feed, EM-A FKE can be mixed with a little cereal bran.

In stress situations:

add 5 l EM-A FKE/t liquid feed or 2 % EM-FKE Bokashi to dry feed.
